Now you may be wonder, mhmm, who is Aleisha? Well grab yourself a glass cool of coconut water and learn a few things about her.

Born and raised on the beautiful, tropical island of Jamaica, Aleisha is a 22-year-old media and communication student.

Her passion for media pushed her to pursue a BA in Communication Arts and Technology at the University of Technology, Jamaica.

Starting her media journey in 2019, Aleisha was passionate about majoring in journalism. By her second year of university, her passion for journalism took the passenger seat as public relations got her driver's license.

Her newfound passion for PR was somewhat employed when she started her business, Ignite Chic, during the covid-19 pandemic. She was working as her own social media manager. Though this proved to be a challenge, she tried her best.

Not giving up, Aleisha started learning more about public relations and tried to apply it to everyday situations around her. She is now Google Digital Garage certified in digital marketing.

Fast forward to 2022, Aleisha applied for the Director of Public Relations position for her faculty, the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies. Yes, she got the role.

Currently serving in this role, Aleisha's skills in social media, communication, and dealing with crisis have drastically improved. Giving speeches, attending meetings with senior members of the faculty to represent the student body, dealing with student queries/ issues, and developing content have all been part of her journey of learning and appreciating public relations.

Aleisha chose the butterfly when asked which creature she associates her brand with. She believes the stages of butterfly metamorphosis is an accurate representation of her journey in the discipline of public relations.

At the egg stage of the cycle, she developed her passion for media and pursued her interest in media.

At the caterpillar stage, she believed her passion in media was journalism, but little did she know that she was on a journey of discovery and change. As change jogged beside her, her doubts about growth or becoming something inspiring started swirling around in her head. Little did she know the best version of myself was yet to come.

As the butterfly evolves, so does she. She now considers herself in the cocoon stage, where she is learning and developing her wings to be someone who inspires creativity and change.

She will soon break the walls of her cocoon and spread her wings, doing and sharing what she is passionate about.
